Well, the step son is officialy gone. I asked him to leave yesterday after a rather scarry display of anger, and today, he came back to pick up all his stuff and dive up to his Dad's place (who doesn't know he's coming to my knowledge, nor wants him up there).
I was afraind he was going to get violent, and he wasn't a good role model for the little one (his daughter btw). The dumb part about it was, he was making a stand that he wasn't going to help take care of his daughter if we weren't going to pay him to do it.
And now I need to replace handle on the front door.
Hopefully I can get a few more hours of sleep.

The little one is dancing and singing along to Yo Gabba Gabba. Either she watches it too much to learn the words, or she's just getting to be that smart (or both).
It's rather cute though. "Stilll.... Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle... Stilllll... Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle"

The job is going well. They're happy and impressed with me, and I'm enjoying it, so it's been good. Night shift is taking a bit of time getting used to, but I'm doing ok.
Wife is done with her anti-biotic treament. She was getting IV anti-biotics for 6 weeks for a sinus infection that's been there since her last sinus surgery (December of 2008). She had a cancer scare, but we're pretty sure things are ok. We also found out she's got other issues that may be contributing to her fatigue. I really need to go FTE before her cobra runs out.
Money's tight till next week, but we've got a good enough buffer. Getting only 3 paychecks this month hurt, but we'll make it though.
Been accomplishing a few things in Rock Band (getting though the few songs I still can't on expert, and gold starting songs), I just with the leaderboards worked so I could track them better. Patch broke them. The RB parties resume next month after missing this month. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm not sure if saturdays will work better for most people. We'll see.
Anyway, off to work in a few.

Well, it feels like it.
I got a job :)
Just finished my second week. Feels good to be working, and I think I can do well in this job (if I can ever get full access).

I think they like me at my job. While they haven't scheduled me for more hours, they keep calling me in. I had 1 day off last week (because I insisted), and they just tried to call me in today. I'd have thought about it if I didn't also have school work and the kid to deal with.
Doesn't pay well, but it's better than nothing, and it's nice to be working.

Teacher: I learn a lot looking at your answers to the code problems. How long have you been writing code?
Me: I haven't programming code since '95.
Not that I think I'm actually that good at coding, but I found that comment amusing.
Edit: On second note, that wasn't the teacher who made that comment. D'oh!

Tomorrow, I start at Target.
Today, however, I am very sick. Hopefully I can keep something down before tomorrow.

I love fantasy football. I won a lot of leagues last year, and this year, I'm only going to be in 4 leagues. Should be fun.
One draft down so far, had 2 Defenses and a kicker go in the first 3 rounds in that one.

Are a warm body? Can you move under your own power? Would you like to play football for Northern Illinois University?
I'm in an online NCAA2009 league with 26376 as NIU (he's playing as Miami (Ohio)). I went into the season with 1 active Tight End (TE) and 4 Wide Recievers (WR). Currently, that TE is out for the season, and my #1 WR is out for a few more weeks (likely until the MAC championship game, if I can get there). As a result, my #3 WR is playing TE off and on, my #2 Half Back (HB) has logged some time at WR, TE, and FB, and my #2 Left Tackle (LT ) had at least 2 catches in my last game.
To make matters worse, my kicker is so inaccurate, that on non-extra points, he's about 50/50 when he's in range, which is about 35 yards (though he did make a 50 yard kick with the wind).
Fortunately this year is almost over, and I think I'll have a better recruiting class than last year. Between that, and some red shirt transfers, I'll have a much better team next year.

Well, barring a drug and background check (which shouldn't be a problem).
It's at Target, I'll be on the sales floor, probably in Electronics, and hope to get 35-40 hours a week. It's not great, but it should help with the bills and such till I get something better, and maybe I can get in on a better position or something.
Current mood: accomplished
A while ago, Rockband99.com was started by HMX (developers of Rock Band) to clear out RB1 bundles, and they offered the bundle with RB2 and AC/DC pack discs for $99 and $15 shipping. Then Walmart offered the RB2 bundle for $99. Now, Rockband99.com goes to Rockband79.com, where the RB1 bundle with RB2 and AC/DC disc goes for $79 and free shipping.
So, if you want Rock Band, and don't have a Wii, I'd give it a shot (Excludes Wii for the web deals).

Zoo good. Zoo with todler tiring.
We did get to use the monkey leash/backpack thingie though, and that let her run around a bit. Hopefully we can work on her staying close without one eventualy.
Second interview tomorow. I'm thinking positive.
Happy Birthday 26376. Hope it's a good one.

I got my first interview set up since i got laid off (December).
It's Target, but it's better than nothing and will help extend unemployment. The discount will also reduce costs around here, so I can't complain about that.
We'll see how it goes. I have a few other retail apps out there.

At the moment, we are seriously underfunded in my household. Money is coming, but not quickly, or quick enough, so I just had to dip once again into the retirement account. Can't do this too many more times, though at least the part I dipped in is better than it was in March (was around $7 a share, now up between $10 and $11).
I'm off to apply for jobs at Target, Walmart, and Hobby Lobby. The former two may finaly be hiring now that summer is almost over, and the later had a sign out on Monday. Any income would be better than what I'm working with now.

Oil Change that shouldn't have happened will hopefully be cleared up. Meanwhile, I was also charged for my car getting towed twice.
In other news, we do not have the warranty coverage, so the bill (which should be about $90 less) is all mine. :(
Meanwhile, I've been informed that there may be problems getting the money my step-son owes us.
the Sunfire now feels like it drives and steers better when the only work done on it replaced the steering column shell and ignition tumbler?
I'm tired, but had a few random things to jot down. - Won 2 more songs via Pepsi (Woho!). I'm now 21/24 in the give away. Neither song I grabbed was one I had on my want list initially.
- Car repairs cost ~$615. I'm hoping I can get most of that reembursed.
- Due to the above, no Gen Con for me.
- Dawn asked Serenity if she was glad to see me back and she said no :(
- Despite the fact that the car issues wouldn't have happened if i had gone down to Urbana, I don't blame the trip for them, as it would have happened eventually. The timing was just really bad.
- My cell phone battery, after dying less than an hour after I had charged it, has been good all evening, and been under heavier use. I would still like to get a replacement.
- I find most of the ghost/haunting shows (A Haunting, Ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters, etc) annoying and stupid.
- I fell asleep for a moment while writing the previous sentence.
Current mood: tired

Well, technically, the car isn't dead, just the ignition tumbler. It was not money I wanted to spend either.
Been a long weekend. An expensive weekend, but 26376 and jennilee_rose are in their new apartment.
I'm not sure about Gen Con anymore, which is annoying because I leave Wednesday. I'll talk to the wife and see.
